“Je suis reconnaissante” means “I am thankful” in French. I brought my “Paris” gratitude journal with me on our trip to remind me of God’s continuous blessings.
Counting gifts from Paris 889-896:
Not crying when I left the kids with the babysitter
Safe flights to Europe (it only took three flights:)
Comfy seats in business class-can I just say how awesome a hot, wet towel is? The champagne is kind of nice too:)
Beauty and history of this city
Cool, Fall weather
A wonderful tour guide who took us all over the city. We were able to see things we would not have ever found had we explored on our own or took a group tour. I think we walked for nine hours straight.
Figuring out the metro and train system
Banana and nutella crepes
Chocolate and pear crepes
Crepes, crepes and more crepes!
Espresso all day long:)
View of the city at night
The beauty produced by artist’s through the centuries
Gardens to stroll through
Historical architecture
Talking to the kids on Skype
Finding out they are doing great and don’t appear to miss us at all
As we’ve toured the museum’s and learned more and more of the war-torn history of the French, I am thankful that our country’s own Revolution did not result in a loss of belief in God. France is a country full of churches, yet they are only frequented by tourists.
Getting lost in a rough area of town and finding our way out:) And best of all-not having anything stolen or being pickpocketed!
Finding a huge outdoor market that the Parisian’s attend on the weekends. Cheese, produce, meats, seafood, clothing, bakeries-you name it, it’s there. So much fun!
And there’s more to come…this week: Normandy and D-day beaches, Monet’s Garden of Giverny, more museums and parks and then heading for home.
