Likewise, a player who bets large amounts may be bluffed into folding.

Another common feature is a special fund called the kitty. Kitty is usually split among all players who remain in the game. Usually, the kitty is built by cutting a low-denomination chip from pots with more than one raise. Depending on the specific game, the kitty can be used to pay for food or to buy a brand new deck of cards.

One of the most intriguing aspects of poker is bluffing. Unless it’s illegal, a player can make a bet that will be seen by everyone in the room. Most players do so in the hopes of winning a large amount of money.
